The Kendal & South Lakes Shopmobility service is based on level 3 of the Westmorland Centre Car Park and is clearly visible opposite the entrance to the shopping centre. We offer a free, professional and caring service to provide independence, freedom and dignity through the free loan of mobility aids. Shopmobility is not just for the disabled. If you have an injury, are pregnant, elderly or tire easily, in fact anything which makes it difficult for you to get around Town, then you can benefit from the scheme.

Membership is free, but we do ask for a token £2 deposit each time you use our service. We are a registered charity, so any donations are also most welcome. To become a member, you will need to provide some simple form of identification, so please bring along something which has your name and address on it.

We can provide manual wheelchairs, powered chairs, scooters and escorts for both mobility and the visually impaired. Disabled parking bays are available close to the pick up area on level three, including for Orange Badgeholders.

The Shopmobility service is extremely well used and it is therefore essential that you book in advance, please give us as much notice as possible, especially if you will require the help of an escort. Please don't just turn up without booking in advance as we cannot guarantee that the service you need will be available.

Our services are available Monday to Saturday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, and our last available booking is 4:00pm each day.
